I’ve been scammed twice moving to new apartments. It stung. I started talking to other people moving to new cities, and this problem became more and more apparent. So I had more conversations truly validating the idea, I did test apartment tours on behalf of others (acting as the gig-worker), and ultimately got enough data (70% of 18-34 year olds told us they would pay someone NOT a broker to tour a prospective apartment for them) to begin MVP development. During that validation process, I brought on a great friend and former co-founder of mine, Owen, to focus on building our community through digital storytelling. I’ve also brought together a world class advisory team, with a founder of Seamless, a former head of content at Airbnb and Square, a professor of venture at MIT Sloan, and more. Our greatest need is twofold: 1. We need technical help to build table stakes technology that can scale past the V1 MVP, and 2. Because Unseen is mostly a B2C play, we need to be able to test specific marketing channels to understand trends & ROI, so that when we have significant money to put towards customer acquisition, we know where to put it.
