SAFEtech is revolutionizing school safety with real-time alerts, communication, and location tracking to initiate faster, more efficient responses when every second matters.

Elevator Pitch

School safety continues to be a growing concern for parents, educators and most of all students. We continue to incidents of school violence with little to no solutions, until now.
SAFEtech infuses innovative technology with the latest school safety practices to reduce emergency response. By utilizing our emergency alert system, open channels of communication and real time locations of students and staff, school officials can respond faster and more efficiently than ever before. It’s inevitable that crises will happen. When it does, it’s vital to have the tools to navigate through those critical moments when every second matters.

Revenue Model

We use a subscription pricing model that charges anywhere from $3k – 5k per school year. This is based on our target customer profile which is charter and private schools in Bexar County. Overtime that will increase to reflect new features and upgrades.

Startup Journey

I worked in Education for 17 years, 8 of those specifically to improve school safety at the campus and regional level. My cofounder Liza Gomez is a former classroom teacher. We started SAFEtech because we were tired of witnessing the utter chaos and confusion school emergencies would place on schools. often leading to tragic results. SAFEtech has undergone rigorous market testing beginning at the University of Pennsylvania’s Educational Entrepreneurship where we received the Penn Wharton Validation Award in the amount of $250 (2019). We have since participated in Geekdom’s Incubator and Pre-Accelerator programs where we received $25K SAFE note (2022) which we used to build our MVP and pay for basic operational costs. We successfully piloted on 7 campuses in 2023 and conducted focus groups with the users to gather feedback. A $50k investment would help us tremendously as we continue to bootstrap.

Go-To-Market Plan

First, convert our pilot schools to paid contracts, engage with former colleagues, utilize LinkedIn to start a national waitlist, marketing campaign, and send cold messages to potential prospects, conduct in person campus introductions in Bexar County and surrounding counties.

Potential Exit

SAFEtech is uniquely positioned to address current school safety and future needs. We have conducted talks with several companies in and around the school safety space that have expressed interest in our platform and when we acquire customers, I believe they will be interested in potential acquisition discussions.
