In 2013, my journey began at Fisk University, fueled by a deep-rooted passion to enhance economic conditions in Africa. This drive led me to help found the non-profit, Catering to Africans in Need as the fundraising chair. Initially, I relied on traditional fundraising methods, such as grant applications and selling hand-crafted African clothing and home decor at local fairs. However, I soon realized the limitations of these approaches. The stark reality of many Africans unable to afford basic healthcare and amenities underscored the urgent need for sustainable solutions. This realization sparked a commitment to develop initiatives that not only generate income but also promote self-sufficiency within communities, ensuring long-term sustainability and empowerment. Armed with expertise in Marketing, Fashion, and Programming, I launched Osaze. Osaze is more than just an e-commerce platform; it revolutionizes the supply chain, offering unique features like custom outfits, fit-to-size options, automated shipping, individual store management, multi-currency sales and more to small scale African designers. Osaze not only supports designers but also champions eco-friendly practices and social responsibility. To maintain quality and provide comprehensive support to our roster of over 100 designers, we require a local facility and further technological advancements.
