As the founder of MangaChat, I was a university professor in Medical Informatics in Taiwan for 10 years and also an amateur comic artist. When I decided to step out of my comfort zone, I wanted to combine my passion and expertise to create something unique. This passion became my mission when a schoolteacher was able to save a girl’s life after discovering her suicide note in her MangaChat journal during our pilot in 2020. In May 2021, during the school closures caused by the pandemic, MangaChat quickly reached 700 schools in Taiwan. It became a tool for teachers to help students express their anxiety. Consequently, in 2022, MangaChat was recommended by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education as one of the endorsed school software solutions. In 2023, the Keelung City Department of Education officially adopted MangaChat, providing it to 54 elementary and middle schools across the city. At the end of 2023, we established our headquarters in Singapore, making it our hub for entering the global market.
