“Carla Testino was inspired by her love for design and her desire to create products that are ethical, sustainable, with a strong identity and high quality. Carla’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2006 with the establishment of a fine jewelry workshop in Peru. Later in 2015, she launched Sideral, a brand of women’s handbags combining design and craftsmanship from indigenous communities. Today, we aim to create unique, handmade luxury pieces that celebrates Peruvian cultural heritage and champion sustainability and the empowerment of women artisans.
Before launching our brand, we hired an international consultant who works with luxury brands in Milan and London. He supervised our first collection and found our differentiation truly unique and the quality of our products astonishing. We are currently selling at a concept store in Abu Dhabi and a retailer in Dubai, and we are seeking more opportunities in the Middle Eastern market.
Up to the present, we have executed projects with personal funds and participated in government trade shows.
We need to develop a digital marketing strategy to: a) Improve brand recognition; b) optimise search engine presence, c) network with corporate buyers, d) establish partnerships in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and e) test new products.”
