Local talents like face painting, balloon twisting,Guitarist,Henna artist and more, often lack the resources, such as funding, Insufficient Networking, Limited Awareness, equipment, or professional support, to fully develop and showcase their skills.
With over a decade of experience in software development and as a certified artist, My vision is to empower individuals-whether they are skilled professionals or simply have everyday abilities—to share their talents with their neighbors and earn from what they do best. Combining their passion for art and technology.
BuddyAid’s revenue model centers on a transaction-based commission structure, where the platform charges a service fee for each successful booking between users, typically we charge 5%-7% of brokerage based on category. This allows for revenue scaling in proportion to user engagement.
BuddyAid began as a vision to empower local talent and build stronger community connections. The idea took shape during the COVID-19 pandemic, when co-founders Anuja, Bala, and their longtime friend Syed saw neighbors struggling to share skills and find work locally. With backgrounds in IT and a commitment to community impact, they bootstrapped BuddyAid’s development, launching it as a neighborhood-based platform where residents can market skills, from tutoring to home repairs, and find support close to home.
Since its inception, BuddyAid has conducted in-depth research with over 75 community members, validating demand and refining the platform. Now with 180,000 website views, 50+ active users, and 100+ on the waitlist, BuddyAid has shown significant traction. Its goal is to connect help-seekers with skilled talented locals, reducing barriers to work and fostering neighborhood collaboration. Looking forward, BuddyAid aims to enhance its technology, expand services, and continue building community-driven economic resilience.

BuddyAid’s exit strategy focuses on acquisition by a larger tech or community platform.
